Alfred J. Favreau, 83
ADAMS, Mass. — Alfred J. "Fred" Favreau, 83, of 17 Pleasant St. died Monday, June 1, 2009, at Williamstown Commons.Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 29, 1925, son of Reveranda and Rose Dumochel Favreau, he attended schools in North Adams.
A Marine veteran of World War II, he achieved the rank of corporal.
Mr. Favreau was co-founder of Astro Beef Co. in Lanesborough until moving in 1974 to the state of Florida in 1974 where he resided for 25 years and established his own landscaping business.
He was an accomplished golfer and the club champion at Wahconah Country Club for seven straight years.
His wife, the former Eleanor "Helen" Canale, whom he married Aug. 3, 1946, died Feb. 25, 2007.
He leaves a daughter, Karen Anello and her husband, James, of Cheshire, and a brother, Anthony Favreau of Anaheim, Calif.
He was predeceased by his son, David J. Favreau, on April 8, 2009.
