Etta Mae Ruane, 88
GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Etta Mae Ruane, 88, formerly of Main Street, died Monday, May 18, 2009, at Great Barrington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, where she had been a resident for many years.Born in Winsted, Conn., on Dec. 28, 1920, daughter of Geenford S. and Hazel Bump Peasley, she graduated from high school in Falls Village, Conn.
Mrs. Ruane had worked at the McDonalds in Great Barrington in the early 1990s. She had also worked at the former Adams Super Market for 16 years before going to work at the lunch counter at Kmart in Great Barrington for four years. Previously, she was employed as an office worker for eight years at the former Stevens Funeral Home, now Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home.
She leaves her son, Glen W. Ruane of Long Lake, N.Y.; two sisters, Carol Rodriquez of Newburgh, N.Y., and Dorothy Chase of Texas, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by another son, Rodney J. Ruane in 2004, her brother, Francis Peasley, and two other sisters, Barbara Eld and Virginia Decker.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Everyone is invited to join the family on Friday, May 29, at 11 for a graveside service celebrating the life of Mrs. Ruane in Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington, to be conducted by the Rev. Charles VanAusdall.
