Jane A. Morrison, 83

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Jane Ann Morrison, 83, of Harrison Avenue died Sunday, April 19, 2009, peacefully at home.

Born on March 2, 1926, daughter of Harold S. and Dorothy Sanginet Bastien, she attended Drury High School.

Mrs. Morrison was employed by the former American Telephone, as a receptionist at North Adams Regional Hospital and as a secretary in a dental office. Designing stained glass was a hobby that she converted into a business when she opened Kaleidoscope Glass in 1985.

She enjoyed swimming, sewing and tennis. Her therapy during her illness was creating hooked rugs for her family members.

She and her husband, Gordon R. Morrison, celebrated 62 years of marriage on Oct. 25, 2008.

Besides her husband, she leaves a son, James G. Morrison and his partner, Jennie Pierce, of Savoy; three daughters, Linda J. Morrison of Jamestown, R.I., Lois A. LaCasse and her husband, Dennis, of Pittsfield, and Mary R. Barber and her husband, Paul, of Hanson; a sister, Marion Bastien of Bristol, R.I.; 10 grandchildren, Sara J. Sweet and Benjamin R. Morrison, both of Bennington, Vt., Allison Deal of Bluffton, S.C., Elspeth M. Beauchamp and Andrew T. Beauchamp, both of Washington, D.C., Dennis K. LaCasse and Jason R. LaCasse, both of Pittsfield, Reid C. Barber of Nashville, Tenn., and Margaret C. Barber and Zachary C. Barber, both of Hanson; five great-grandchildren, Casey and Kayla Sweet and Jordynne, Dylan and Jaylin LaCasse

She was predeceased by two brothers, James Bastien and Louis Bastien.

FUNERAL NOTICE — A memorial service for Mrs. Morrison will be celebrated Saturday, April 25, at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 777 Main St., Williamstown. Burial will be private.
