Paula J. Couture, 52
ADAMS, Mass. — Paula Jean Couture, 52, of Barrett House died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at home following a long illness.Born in North Adams on Jan 11, 1957, daughter of George E. and Catherine P. McCann Couture, she spent most of her life in Williamstown, graduating in 1975 from Mount Greylock Regional High School. She later attended Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and Southern Vermont College.
Ms. Couture's health problems prevented her from working. Her Catholic faith upheld her through life and she was a communicant of the Parish of Sts. Patrick & Raphael. She loved crafts and cats.
She leaves a son, Jason Couture of Worcester; a brother, Eugene T. Couture of Bakersfield, Calif.; two sisters, Barbara A. Couture and Kathryn C. Birkett, both of Williamstown; her granddaughter, Hailey Anne Couture, whom she said was the light of her life; two foster brothers, Kevin Rooney of Syracuse, N.Y., and Terry Rooney of Orange; her special friend and aide Tammy Hill and her family of Adams, and 15 nieces and nephews, a grandniece and a grandnephew
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April, 21, at 1 at the Church of Sts. Patrick & Raphael, 63 Southworth St., Williamstown, by the Rev. Mark J. Burke, SJ, pastor. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown.
Calling hours will be held from 10 to noon Tuesday, April 21, at Auge-San Soucie-Simmons Funeral Home, 46 North Church St., North Adams.
