Frances A. Miller, 75

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. â€' Frances Anne Miller, 75, of 150 Ashland St. died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at North Adams Commons.

Born in Bennington, Vt., on April 22, 1933, a daughter of Dewey and Susan Harris Hurley, she attended schools in Bennington, including the former Paddock Elementary School and former Catamount High School.

Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Miller worked at the former Bennington Tanning Co. and Bennington Carbon Co. before her marriage. She moved to North Adams in 1955.

She was a communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church and also attended First Bible Baptist Church. She was a member of the VFW Post 996 Ladies' Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 125. She was also a member of the Jollee Circle, Ashland Park Tenants, St. Francis' Rosary Society and the North Adams Spitzer Center. She enjoyed playing bingo.

Her husband, Ralph L. Miller Sr., died July 7, 1991.

She leaves her longtime companion, Thomas Mulvaney of North Adams; three sons, Victor D. Miller and his wife, Lynda, and Ralph L. Miller Jr. and his wife, Annmarie, all of North Adams and Ronald A. Miller and his wife, Shirley, of Adams; three daughters, Rita A. Vaughn and her husband, Charles, of Strasburg, Pa., Andrea L. Goodell and her husband, Douglas Sr., of Clarksburg and Rosemary F. Boudreau and her husband, Leonard Sr., of Adams; two brothers, Russell Miller and Norman Hurley, both of Pownal, Vt.; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sons, Bruce A. Miller in June 2000 and John P. Miller in February 2003, and her brother Thomas Miller.

FUNERAL NOTICE â€' Funeral services for Mrs. Miller will take place Tuesday morning, March 31, at 11 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal, Vt.

Calling hours will be Tuesday morning from 9 to 11 at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the North Adams Commons Employee Recreation Fund or the Resident Activities Fund through the funeral home, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA 01247.

Her beauty sparkled like the warm summer sand as she danced her way into the arms that were waiting for her in Eternity.
