Cecilia DiLego, 92
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Cecilia Theresa Scarbo DiLego, 92, of St. Joseph's Court, 85 Eagle St., died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted Saturday.Born in North Adams on March 24, 1909, daughter of late City Councilor and local businessman Angelo Siciliano and Teresa Giulino Siciliano, she attended North Adams schools, including the former St. Joseph's Grammar School and St. Joseph's High School.
Mrs. DiLego was first employed with her father in the operation of the former Siciliano's Candy Store on Eagle Street. She later worked at the former H.W. Clark Biscuit Co., and was most recently employed by the former Liggett's Drug Store until her retirement in 1970.
She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She was a member and past president of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 310.
Her husband, Paul DiLego, whom she married Sept. 5, 1966, died Jan. 2, 1981.
She leaves six daughters, Lorraine Smith of Longwood, Fla., Cecilia Kozik and Arlene Gregalis, both of Adams, North Adams City Councilor Marie Harpin and Nancy Gagne, both of North Adams, and Judith King of Chicopee; a brother, Lucien Siciliano of Glendora, Calif.; a sister, Rita Jones of San Antonio, 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Patricia Andrew, Angelo Siciliano and Oliver Siciliano, who was killed in action in France in 1944.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Dilego is Friday at 10:15 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will be in the family lot in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Flowers may be sent or donations to the North Adams Ambulance Service in care of the funeral home.
