Priscilla M. Cook, 72
ADAMS, Mass. - Priscilla M. "Peggy" Cook, 72, of 35 Grove St. died Thursday morning, July 26, 2001, at home.Born in North Adams on Aug. 29, 1928, daughter of Alfred Joseph "Bob" and Lillian Foy Boyer, she attended North Adams schools, including the former Notre Dame School.
Mrs. Cook was employed by the former Hunter Outdoor Products. She was first employed by the former Model Laundry and then by the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. She also owned and operated a cake decorating and catering business and had catered and baked for several wedding and private parties in the area.
She was a lifelong and active communicant of Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church, where she was a member of St. Martha's Choir and taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine classes for many years. She also was a member of the Song-Tones singing group and enjoyed playing bingo.
Her husband, Harold Russell Cook, whom she married Aug. 31, 1946, in Notre Dame Church, died Jan. 4, 1980.
She leaves five daughters, Sandra Lee Koch, Marcia Mongeon, Andrea Lorraine Cook-Benoit and Jessica Cook-McCarron, all of North Adams, and Patricia Kidney of Jacksonville, Vt.; a son, Thomas Cook of Adams, with whom she made her home; a sister, Lorraine Gannon of North Adams; a brother, Norman R. "Dick" Boyer of Great Barrington; 20 grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by an infant son, Richard Allan Cook.
FUNERAL NOTICE - Funeral services will take place Monday morning at 10:30 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church in North Adams at 11. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 4 to 8. Memorial donations are suggested for the VNA and Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home.
