Louis E. Bastien, 70

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. â€' Louis E. Bastien, 70, of 46 Summer St. died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center.

Born in North Adams on Jan. 18, 1937, son of Harold and Dorothy Sanguinet Bastien, he attended local schools, including Drury High School.

He served with the Air Force during peacetime.

Mr. Bastien was employed by the local laborers' union, working throughout Berkshire County and Southern Vermont. He was previously employed for 20 years by the former General Cable Co.

He enjoyed golfing, bowling and hunting.

He and his wife, the former Doris McDonald, were married March 16, 1968, at First Congregational Church.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Bruce E. Bastien of Lanesborough; two sisters, Jane Morrison of Williamstown and Marian Bastien of Bristol, Conn.

He was predeceased by a brother, James Bastien.

FUNERAL NOTICE â€' The funeral to celebrate the life of Mr. Bastien will take place Friday at 11 a.m. at Second Congregational Church of South Williamstown with the Rev. Penny Rich Smith, pastor, officiating.

There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the Eileen Barrett Foundation or Second Congregational Church through Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams.
