Ruth A. Zustra, 79
POWNAL, Vt. — Ruth A. Zustra, 79, of 82 Lincoln St., died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.Born in Freeport, N.Y., on July 5, 1927, daughter of Vernon and Helen Tucker Clock, she attended schools there and in Hempstead, N.Y.
Mrs. Zustra was employed by Woolworth's Department Store in Hempstead and, later, by J.J. Newberry's in North Adams, Mass.
She was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of Richard A. Ruether Post 152 American Legion in Williamstown, Mass., and enjoyed knitting, reading, bowling and rollerskating. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She and her husband, Emiel Zustra, were married 60 years.
Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and James LaBonte and Debora and Phil Harpin, all of North Adams, and Penny and Daniel Barcomb of Saratoga, N.Y.; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Christine Zustra and Joseph and Bonnie Zustra, all of North Adams, 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE — At the request of Mrs. Zustra, there will be no funeral or calling hours.
