Julia Landry, 83
ADAMS, Mass. — Julia Landry, 83, of 40 Commercial St. died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at North Adams Regional Hospital after a brief illness.Born in North Adams on Sept. 13, 1922, daughter of Frank and Bertha Sullivan Busby, the family moved to Stamford, Vt., for several years and later returned to North Adams, where she attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School.
Mrs. Landry was employed by the former Waverly Fabrics, retiring in 1977. Prior to that, she was employed by the former Brightwater Paper Co. for many years.
She was an attendant of the Universal Methodist Church of North Adams, and a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Adams, where she held most of the offices.
She and her first husband, Howard Blood, were married for 25 years.
She and her husband, George W. Landry, were married Sept. 26, 1970.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Cynthia Blood Krueger of Bristol, Conn.; her former husband, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Jason, Matthew and Joshua Krueger, and five great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A funeral service for Mrs. Landry will be offered at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. in the MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Liberty St., Adams, MA 01220.
The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 9 from noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to the VFW Auxiliary through the funeral home.
