Ernest P. Laurent, 55
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. â€' Ernest Perry Laurent, 55, of 182 East Main St., died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield as the result of a brain injury related to a fall.Born in Fairfield, Conn., on Feb. 13, 1950, son of Dr. Stuart L. Joslin and the late Dorothy Dennett Joslin, he attended schools in Fairfield, including Fairfield High School, and graduated from Kents Hill Preparatory School in Reedfield, Maine, with the class of 1968.
He also attended St. Lawrence University in upstate New York and received an associate of arts degree from Norwalk (Conn.) Community College.
Mr. Laurent was a writer of poetry and plays. He was a member of the Dramatists Guild and other professional writing organizations.
He lived in Stratford, Conn., for many years and moved to North Adams in 2005.
Besides his father of North Adams, he also leaves a sister of North Adams, Nan Fritz, both of whom he lived with, and another sister, Ellen Johnck of San Francisco and four nephews and a niece, Didrick Johnck of Portland, Ore., Sebastian Johnck of San Francisco, Charles Johnck of Sacramento, Alex Fritz of Boston and Joslin Fritz of Madison, Wis.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' Private graveside services for Mr. Laurent will be held in the spring in Hillside Cemetery in North Adams. There will be no calling hours.
