Dorothy R. Marcil, 77
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Dorothy Rose Marcil, 77, of 17 Meade Ave. died Monday evening, May 14, 2001, at home. She had been in failing health since January.Born in Burlington, Vt., on Dec. 26, 1923, a daughter of Fred H. and Mary Gonyo Jarvis, she attended schools in Burlington and Hadley.
A homemaker, devoted mother and grandmother, Mrs. Marcil had worked at the former Brightwater Paper Co. on Howland Avenue in Adams before her marriage.
She was a communicant of Our lady of Mercy Church.
Her husband, Raymond Gaspar Marcil, whom she married May 18, 1946, died on Dec. 9, 1995.
She leaves two daughters, Nancy Pizani and Paula Boucher, both of North Adams; a son, Joseph Leonard Marcil of North Adams; a sister, Betty Quinlan of Holyoke; a brother, Leonard "Sonny" Jarvis of Holyoke; six grandchildren, Bruce R. Pizani of Los Angeles; Vanessa Boucher, Nicole Boucher, Erica Boucher, Derek Marcil and KayLee Marcil, all of North Adams, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mrs. Marcil will take place Thursday morning, May 17, at 9 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in the family lot in Southview Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to VNA and Hospice of Northern Berkshire in care of the funeral home.
