Lillian A. LaFleur, 84

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Lillian Annette LaFleur, 84, of 49 Angeli St. died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, in the emergency room of the North Adams Regional Hospital, where she had been taken after being stricken earlier at home.

Born in Burlington, Vt., on Dec. 11, 1919, daughter of Amede and Alphonsine LeClair Lambert, her family moved to Adams when she was a child and she attended schools there.

Mrs. LaFleur was employed by Willowood Nursing Home, now Williamstown Commons, until her retirement in 1973. She had first worked at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates in Adams for about 10 years and later at the former Cornish Wire Co. in Williamstown for a few years.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Her husband, Lionel LaFleur, whom she married in 1939, died Aug. 21, 1967.

She leaves a daughter, Linda Bingham of Clearwater, Fla.; three sons, sons and daughters-in-law Richard L. and Nadine LaFleur of Stafford, Va., Ronald J. and Donna LaFleur of North Adams and James LaFleur of Williamstown; a brother, Claude Lambert of Orlando, Fla.; three sisters, Diana Lampiasi and Claire Arnold, both of North Adams, and Cecile Couture of Meriden, Conn.; six grandchildren, Jason LaFleur, Maria LaFleur and Ernest Bingham, all of North Adams, Lugene LaFleur of the state of Florida, Shawn LaFleur of Stafford and Brian Bingham of Clearwater.

She was predeceased by three sisters and two brothers, Georgette Therrien, Jeannette Corrigan, Rena Arnold, Louis Lambert and Hilaire Lambert.

FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. LaFleur will be Monday at 10:15 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, State Road, North Adams. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 4 to 6. Donations to North Adams Ambulance Service or the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
