Claire A. Rondeau, 67

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Claire Ann Rondeau, 67, formerly of 19 Navajo Drive, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, at Springside Nursing Home of Pittsfield.

Born in North Adams on Nov. 18, 1935, daughter of Joseph Hector and Alice Moreau Allard, she attended local schools, including the former Notre Dame schools and Drury High School.

Mrs. Rondeau was last employed by the former Grand Union supermarket in Williamstown, until it closed in 1994. She first worked at the former J.C. Penney Co., then as a nursing assistant at North Adams Regional Hospital for eight years. She was also the deli manager at the former Heritage Supermarket until it closed.

She was a longtime communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler at Valley Park Lanes. She also was the former secretary of the United Tenant Renters Association at Wheel Estates. She enjoyed making crafts.

Her husband, Felix A. Rondeau, whom she married June 19, 1954, in Notre Dame Church, died March 20, 1998.

She leaves four daughters, Lynne Lescarbeau and Laurie Vanuni, both of North Adams, Nancy LeSage of Arlington and Darlene Garland of Mission Viejo, Calif.; a son, Stephen James Rondeau of North Adams; four sisters, Rita Moreau, Jeanne Zdon and Alice Kawa, all of North Adams, and Theresa Lamoureux of Lenox; two brothers, Rolland Allard of North Adams and Joseph Allard of the state of Florida, and 12 grandchildren

She was predeceased by two sisters, Lucille LaBonte and Rachel Jowett, and three brothers, Conrad Allard, Wilfred Allard and Bernard Allard.

FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mrs. Rondeau will take place Monday at 10 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.

Calling hours are Sunday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for HospiceCare in The Berkshires through the funeral home.
