Marion M. Schmidt, 93
LENOX, Mass. — Marion Minnie Schmidt, 93, of Parkway Pavilion, Enfield, Conn., formerly of Lenox, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.Born in Mechanicville, N.Y., on March 25, 1910, daughter of Leonard Salisbury and Ruth Ellen Cassedy Fuller, she lived in Somers and Suffield, Conn., before moving to Enfield in 1997.
Mrs. Schmidt was the art shop manager at Johnson Bookstore in Springfield. After retiring, she taught classes in decoupage, lamp shades and painting.
She was active in the artist community and exhibited her paintings in many shows. She was a member of the Suffield Women's Club and the Suffield Garden Club. She was an avid gardener.
She attended the first Church of Christ Congregational Church, Suffield, Conn.
While living in Lenox, she was married to Benjamin T. Holmes, who predeceased her. She was later married in 1970 to Carl Schmidt, who predeceased her.
She leaves two sisters, Mabel E. Kickery of Interlaken and Naomi C. Kickery of Monterey; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her daughter, Ellen Louise Berry Marcoux, died in August 1997.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 19, at 1 p.m. at Stockbridge Town Cemetery.
