Rosemary A. Gibbons, 72

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Rosemary Ann Gibbons, 72, of Castle Hill Avenue died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, morning at home.

Born in Great Barrington on June 13, 1930, daughter of William and Mary Cleary Graham, she attended local schools and graduated from the former Searles High School with the class of 1948. She later graduated from the former St. Luke's Nursing School in Pittsfield in 1951. She was a lifelong resident of Great Barrington.

Mrs. Gibbons was most recently employed at East Mountain Medical Center. Prior to that, she had been employed with Dr. Thomas Gilligan for 20 years and Berkshire Physicians & Surgeons. She enjoyed nursing and devoted her life to helping people.

She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church.

Her husband, Bernard "Barney" Gibbons, whom she married Oct. 22, 1955, in St. Peter's Church, died March 4, 1998.

She leaves a daughter, Ann D. Gibbons and her husband, Joerg Klauck, of Starksboro, Vt.; a son, Bernard F. Gibbons Jr. of Hillsdale, N.Y.; two brothers, Martin Graham and his wife, Betty, of Great Barrington and Edward Graham and his wife, Dottie, of Deming, N.M., and a grandson, Dennis Gibbons.

She was predeceased by her brother William Graham and his wife, Ann.

FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Gibbons will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Great Barrington by the Rev. Shaun O'Conner, MIC.

Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Great Barrington. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, Jan. 17, from 4 to 7 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Fairview Hospital Nurses Education Fund of the Special Olympics through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. Remembrances, memories and reflections may be sent to the family at www.finertyandstevens.com.
