Roma Sweeney, 87
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Roma Anna Sweeney, 87, formerly of Ashland Park Apartments, 150 Ashland St., died Monday, July 22, 2002, at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown.Born in Adams on July 23, 1914, daughter of Charles and Marion E. Culver Desrosiers, she attended Adams schools, including the former Notre Dame School and Adams High School. She had resided in North Adams for more than 40 years.
Mrs. Sweeney was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for more than 25 years, until her retirement in 1970.
She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church and a former communicant of Notre Dame du Sept Douleurs Church of Adams. She was a member of the Sprague Quarter Century Club and the Sprague IUE Local 200 Retirees Club.
She leaves two daughters, Betty Sartori and Linda Hattat, both of North Adams; two sisters, Mary Agnes Ashton of Williamstown and Sister Mary Carol Desrosiers of the Sisters of Providence in Holyoke; seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
One brother and four other sisters are deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Funeral Mass at noon at Our Lady of Mercy Shrine, Massachusetts Avenue, North Adams. Burial at a later date in Maple Street Cemetery, Adams.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Saturday morning from 10 until the funeral. Donations are suggested to Sweet Brook Care Centers in care of the funeral home.
