Mary A. DeGrenier, 86
PITTSFIELD, Mass. â€' Mary Alice DeGrenier, 86, formerly of 195 Elberon Ave., died Thursday morning, Nov. 15, 2001, at Hillcrest Commons, where she had been admitted March 17, 2000.Born in Bennington, Vt., on Sept. 19, 1915, daughter of Arthur and Anna Lawler Mould, she attended elementary schools there. She moved to North Adams in 1938 and to Pittsfield a number of years ago.
A homemaker most of her life, Mrs. DeGrenier was employed by the former Hoosac Cotton Mill and the former Sprague Electric Co., both in North Adams.
She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church in North Adams.
She and her husband, George L. DeGrenier, celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary Sept. 5.
Besides her husband, she leaves four sons, Donald G. DeGrenier of North Adams, Dennis A. DeGrenier of Anniston, Ala., Lawrence E. DeGrenier of Bradford and Wayne DeGrenier of Turners Falls; a brother, Walter Mould of North Bennington, Vt., 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Virginia Keating.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' The funeral will be tomorrow at 9:15 a.m. from AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be today from 6 to 8. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her memory be made to the Alzheimer's and Related Diseases Foundation through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247.
