Vermont, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Mary Angus and Bill LeQuier of Readsboro Glassworks will be welcoming visitors to their studio during the Vermont Crafts Council’s annual Spring Open Studio Weekend. The Glassworks will be open on Saturday and Sunday, May 25 & 26, from 10 AM to 5 PM. Stop in to see their handblown glass and glass sculpture and watch one of the glassblowing demonstrations ongoing throughout the weekend.
The Vermont Crafts Council publishes an Open Studio Tour Guide with directions to participating studios. The Guide is available free on the Vermont Crafts Council website, www.vermontcrafts.com Readsboro Glassworks, # 54 on the tour map, is located at 6954 Main Street, RT 100, (lower level) in Readsboro, Vermont. WEST STOCKBRIDGE CHAMBER PLAYERS SPRING CONCERT
W. Stockbridge, 5 to 7 p.m.
The West Stockbridge Chamber Players Spring Concert on Sunday, May 26th at 5 p.m. in the West Stockbridge Old Town Hall will honor the town’s 250th Anniversary, including a march that was written in 1774. Featuring Chamber Players’ artistic director Catherine Hudgins on clarinet, Sheila Fiekowsky on violin, Jennifer Elowitch on violin, Daniel Getz on viola, Mary Ferrillo on viola, and Oliver Aldort on cello, the program includes two works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart -- his March in D major, K.237/189c (arr. Hudgins) and his String Quintet No. 1 in B flat major, K. 174 -- along with Robert Fuchs’ Quintet for Clarinet in E? Major, Op.102.
This concert is generously supported by the West Stockbridge and Alford/Egremont Cultural Councils.
Tickets ($35 for members; $40 for nonmembers) can be reserved at weststockbridgehistory.org. Limited attendance — first come, first served.
